Appearance
Mottled brown to olive-green body with a square tail. Features dark-colored chin barbels (whiskers) and saw-like serrations on the back of the pectoral fin spines.

Primary Habitat
Warm, shallow, turbid waters of lakes, ponds, and slow-moving muddy rivers. Highly tolerant of low oxygen levels.
