Appearance

Dark olive/black back with worm-like markings. Sides have red spots with blue halos. Lower fins have distinct white edges.

Size Range

6-12 inches in streams. Females grow slightly larger depending on waterway size.

Primary Habitat

Requires very cold, exceptionally clean, highly oxygenated water.

Feeding Habits

Insects, small crustaceans, smaller fish.

Movement: Easily spooked. Holds in slow water right next to fast currents.
